Arend Rod
Arend Rod 7-1/2’ 2 piece 2 tip 4.1 oz. rod with 15/64” ferrule. Original varnish in good condition, showing a few scratches but nothing serious. Wraps are yellow-gold with black tipping; guides are dark. A couple of guides have been replaced and rewrapped. Ferrules are bright, probably drawn. The cigar grip has flattened sides for a near-oval cross-section. Bright aluminum downlock reel seat with brown composite spacer. Butt cap is stamped “P.W. Arend Rod”. Shaft is inscribed “Arend Rod 7-1/2/Englewood, Colo.”. Original bag and possibly original tube. Bill Arend made rods in small volume near the home of Granger and Phillipson rods. Per Brandin bought this rod because he saw a similar one win a casting accuracy competition. This one casts sweetly with a WF5F.
