Goodwin Granger Champion 8’6”. Three piece, two tip 3.9 oz. 17/64” and 11/64” ferrules. 6” “Coke” bottle grip, darkened but smooth. Full nickel silver cap and ring reel seat. Red wraps with black tipping, darkened guides, circular tiptops. Original bag and wooden form. Agatine stripper. The guides are three on the mid and four on each tip. This is a rod from the mid 30’s after Mr. Granger passed away. The finish is somewhat worn but clearly original, and I polished it to bring it back. This is the same model that the Rev. John Norman Maclean, Norman’s father, fished. It must be unusual to find an early example of a bottom-of-the-line model in unaltered condition. Wondering how it casts, I tried a WF5F on it in my yard. It does very well. $ 450.00.
