Leonard 8 foot 3/2 model 50. 16/64” and 10/64” ferrules. 3.8 oz. 4-3/4” cigar grip (somewhat ridged). The rod is refinished. It looks very good: Dark red wraps with lighter red tipping; lightweight black guides; bright ferrules. Wraps are per the Leonard pattern. No hookkeeper. The wrap at the winding check is extended slightly to brace a crack. Cap and ring reel seat with butternut spacer. Butt cap is marked: “The/Leonard/Rod/H.L. Leonard Rod Co./Makers” in cartouche. Sections are full length. The upper 7” of the mid has been scarfed (hard to detect); mid female ferrule is a CSE replacement. The ferrules fit smoothly. One tip has a 3” repair wrap between the 2d and 3d guide up and a 1-1/2” repair wrap below the uppermost guide. Both wraps are solid. The other tip has no repairs. Twill replacement bag; original tube. The rod casts a WF5 and a WF6 powerfully and beautifully, as befits a Leonard. The price is $900, in light of the repairs. A true Leonard 50 for not much money.
